EmVenio attends SCOPE 2026

Last week, our team attended the 17th annual SCOPE Summit in Orlando, Florida. This year was especially meaningful as it marked our first time attending as EmVenio Clinical Research. We were excited to reconnect with partners, meet new faces, and share how our community-based approach is transforming access to research.

Showcasing Leadership in Decentralized Clinical Trials

We kicked off the week with a strong presence on the conference stage. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Jeff Huntsman, joined Megan Sniecinski, Chief Business Officer at Praxis Precision Medicines, for the speaker session, “ET at Home: Light Years from the Clinic – Designing decentralized trials that meet patients where they are.” Together, they discussed the design and execution of a decentralized Phase 3 trial for Ulixacaltamide in the treatment of essential tremor. Jeff also shared real‑world insights and data illustrating the impact, feasibility, and patient-centric benefits of community-based and decentralized trial models.

Championing Community Engagement and Health Equity

The following day, Jeff joined Natanya Candelario, Senior Director of Global Health Equity at Bristol Myers Squibb, for “Driving Inclusive Clinical Research Through Community Partnership: Reflections Collective, EmVenio, and Bristol Myers Squibb.” Their discussion highlighted:

  • Why authentic community engagement is essential
  • How to build and sustain trust across diverse populations
  • The role of community partnerships in improving access, awareness, and participation in clinical trials

Reflections Collective

Reflections Collective, one of the collaborations featured in the session, is a community-driven coalition focused on reducing the disparities that persist in clinical trial enrollment. Built around the principles of listening, trust-building, and local partnership, the initiative connects research organizations with trusted community leaders, faith-based and civic organizations, and culturally rooted advocates.

Through Reflections, EmVenio works to co-design outreach strategies, address misconceptions about research, and ensure communities have a meaningful voice in how studies are introduced and supported. The conversation at SCOPE highlighted how these models create stronger, more sustainable bridges between research and the populations who have historically been left out of it.

Evening Reception and Major Themes

We also hosted an evening reception with drinks, live music, tasty bites, and guided tours of our community research site. This on-site experience allowed attendees to experience firsthand the scale, flexibility, and patient-first design of our community research sites. and the lengths we go to recruit and retain individuals from all demographic populations. Many visitors commented on how spacious the site was, noting that it felt no different from a traditional brick‑and‑mortar research site in terms of layout, comfort, and capability. Several attendees mentioned that touring the unit helped them envision how community-based research can maintain high clinical standards while significantly reducing participant burden.

Through our community site network and mobile visits, we bring research closer to patients to reduce the burden of participation. We don’t wait for people to come to us; we go to them. That’s how we put the Reach in Research

With such a large team in attendance, we were able to attend an abundance of panels and speaker sessions, gathering fresh insights around patient recruitment, AI, emerging technologies, and the accelerating movement toward community‑based research.

Looking Ahead

SCOPE 2026 was a tremendous success! From sharing our latest work, to exchanging insights with peers, to forming new partnerships, we value every opportunity to collaborate with those pushing clinical research forward. If you didn’t get a chance to meet with us in Orlando, or if you did and want to continue the conversation, we’d love to connect.
